Eastbourne Borough Council is looking forward to supporting and encouraging live music in Eastbourne venues. The Council will work with its partners to help ensure that venues looking to offer facilities where local bands can perform offer a suitable environment.
Leader of Eastbourne Borough Council, Councillor Ian Lucas, said, “I want to see more opportunities for local bands to play gigs in Eastbourne. Considering the range of theatres and other venues we have, it’s time the council started to work with partners to recognise the local talent that exists, and encouraged local bands to play.”
Eastbourne has a wealth of musical talent and the Council recognises that there is a demand for a wider spectrum of venues to play in.
The town boasts venues of all sizes, many of whom are permitted to provide live music to suit all musical tastes. The Council will endeavour to work with its partners, fostering links between all parties to ensure events are safe, well managed, and aim to improve the music scene in Eastbourne.
