The Mayor of Eastbourne will be presenting a prize to a youngster from Eastbourne Technology College after completing a safety competition. Environmental Health Officers gave a presentation to year 10 students before they headed off for a week’s work experience within businesses in the town.
The worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Colin Belsey says, “It is always good to see a pupil from one of our excellent local schools win such a prize. I hope that all these young people have learned something of interest in their week of work experience that will be of use to them when they are in the workplace themselves”
The students were given information about the hazards they may face in the workplace placements and what they should expect from their employer in terms of health and safety. Information for youngsters who are due to go on work experience is available from the council’s website.
