The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Colin Belsey, and the Mayoress, Miss Anna Belsey, will attend a commemorative service for the life of Admiral Lord Nelson. An invitation has also been extended to Members of the Council. The annual service, which is organised by the local Royal Naval Association, will take place on Sunday 22 October at Christ Church in Eastbourne.
The Mayor of Eastbourne says, “I have attended this service whenever possible, it is with much pleasure that I will be attending this year as the Mayor of Eastbourne. I hope that as many of my fellow Councillors and members of the public will come along and help celebrate this very courageous man.”
A parade will leave Fisherman’s Green car park at 2.20pm and head along Beach Road into Seaside and then to the Church where they will have the opportunity to meet the Mayor and Mayoress prior to the three o’clock church service. After the service they will parade back to the Association’s Headquarters in Beach Road.
