Vote for Lottery Funding

Help get lottery funding for the Archery
Young people from Kingsmere are fronting the campaign to get the whole of Eastbourne to vote for their project on Tuesday 14th November.

The young people have been attending football sessions at Archery Recreation Ground funded by the Eastbourne Crime Reduction Partnership (ECRP). The recreation ground is run down and the now dated surface Red Gra which is like gravel turns to a muddy mess in the wet.

The young people want to play in a street soccer league with other teams that are being set up in town. A £50,000 lottery bid to the peoples millions was submitted by Eastbourne Borough Council on behalf of the young people.

If successful the money would be used to replace the Red Gra with tarmac, to create a dividing fence that will allow the large space to be adapted for multiple use. New line markings and goals will finish it off.

This refurbishment depends on you, the project ‘Goodbye Red Gra – Hello Tarmac’ needs your votes on Tuesday 14 November. The voting numbers are only released on the day, in the Mirror, on the Big Lottery Fund website, here on Eastbourne Borough Council’s website and on ITV Meridian‘s regional news at 6pm.

The young people of Kingsmere armed with bed sheets, spray paints and markers created banners to advertise the project at the site and on the day the number will be displayed on them.

£50,000 depends on you; please help create a new community sports facility by voting on the day!
