Sussex Police cadets were recently given the task of painting some of the railings around the childrens’ play area in Gildredge Park.
After working hard all day, the youngsters unfortunately ran out of paint but not railings!
As soon as they have some more paint the cadets have pledged to return to the park to finish the job.
The day was sponsored by Environment Agency Action Earth scheme.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Economy, Tourism and Environment Councillor David Elkin says, “This is an excellent example of young people wanting to put something back into their community. I am sure it will encourage others to do the same.
