The Mayor’s Dinner and Dance, which took place on Friday 17th March at the Winter Garden, raised almost £5,000 for the Mayor’s chosen charity, C.R.Y. (Cardiac Risk in the Young), while a fine time was had by all who attended.
The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Graham Marsden, says, “I want to thank everybody who joined us at the Winter Garden for what was a memorable evening of fun, good food, dancing and an excellent cabaret. So many people helped to make the evening a success, from those who made donations, the many local businesses and residents who provided raffle prizes, to advertisers in the souvenir programme. As a result of all that hard work we have raised a significant sum for my charity, C.R.Y. This means that we can purchase medical equipment to help overcome those undiagnosed heart conditions that lead to the tragic loss of young lives.”
Thanks also go to Red Eventful for their excellent three course dinner, Shades Bistro, for sponsoring the eleven-piece band, “Pzazz” for after-dinner dancing, and “Los Tangueros” for their wonderful cabaret.
Donations can still be made to the Mayor’s chosen charity by sending a cheque to the Mayor’s Office, Town Hall, or call 01323 415020. Find out more about C.R.Y. by visiting .
