Mayor’s Charity Dinner and Dance Just Days Away

Although tickets are selling fast, it’s not too late to buy tickets to the Mayor’s Charity Dinner and Dance!  Enjoy a three course dinner, followed by dancing and a tango cabaret, whilst supporting a good cause.  The event takes place on Friday 17th March, 7.00 for 7.30p.m., in the Floral Hall, Winter Garden.

The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Graham Marsden, says, “Everything is set for a great night out, full of fun, good food and the serious intent of raising money for my charity.   I hope that we can really fill the Winter Garden and help to reduce the sudden death of young people from undiagnosed heart conditions.”

The Mayor’s hope is that this event’s proceeds, together with money raised from previous fund-raising events, will result in enough money to purchase an E.C.G. machine for an Eastbourne surgery.  The E.C.G. machine would be used as a means of identifying undiagnosed heart complaints.  The doctors’ surgery in Enys Road has had the use of one for sometime and it has proved to be invaluable.

Among the evening’s VIPs will be the High Sheriff, who will be delivering the Loyal Toast, the Chairman of East Sussex County Council, Chairman of Wealden District Council and Eastbourne MP, Nigel Waterson.

“Pzazz”, (sponsored by Shades Bistro) will be providing music for after-dinner dancing and Tango formation team “Los Tangueros” will give a demonstration followed later by a spectacular performance.

Around 100 prizes will be raffled while some sought-after prizes will be auctioned, including a year’s membership to Isospa, Sovereign Centre and a year’s family membership to the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club.  Fantastic raffle prizes include dinner at some of the town’s top restaurants and hotels, a night in a luxury London hotel, champagne, bottles of wine, crystal glass, and ‘Keeper for the Day’ at Drusillas Park.

Tickets are £30 each and can be obtained by calling 01323 415020 or by sending a cheque, made payable to “The Mayor of Eastbourne’s Charity”, to Miss B Chwatow, Mayor’s Office, Town Hall, Grove Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4UG.  Individuals or couples are welcome to purchase tickets.  Why not book a table for eight and enjoy a night out with your friends?
