Shinewater Shape Up’ event on Friday 2 June was a tremendous success with fifteen bags of rubbish removed from site. Eastbourne Borough Council & East Sussex County Council Rangers Andy & Jessie hosted the event for sixteen volunteers from the public, Millennium Volunteers and Sussex Police cadets. Their aim was to reduce glass & plastics for the benefit of wildlife.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Environment, Tourism and Economy, Councillor David Elkin says, “Wow what a truly amazing effort by all the youngsters we all owe them a big THANK YOU for their effort, and I hope they enjoyed themselves and were able to meet new contacts of their own age.”
