The Bandstand stage will be taken by storm on June 30 as a tribute to the phenomenal Robbie Williams heads to Eastbourne as part of the action packed line-up of seafront entertainment this summer.
Robbie Williams has been the biggest success story since Take That broke up, and while the 90’s boy band wrap up their smash hit reunion tour, ‘Robbie The Show’ will belt out some of the Britpop golden boy’s most famous tunes, including ‘Let Me Entertain You’, ‘No Regrets’ and the hugely popular ‘Angels’.
Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Councillor David Elkin says, "The Bandstand has such a varied line-up of entertainment this year that is sure to appeal to the whole family. The tribute nights are such a wonderful addition with future evenings playing tribute to some of biggest names in music including the Bee Gees, Beatles, Tom Jones, Eagles, The Shadows and Westlife."
Running every Friday until September 1, the season kicked off last week with the Blues Brothers and this Friday sees Pure Magic – a tribute to Freddie Mercury. Introduced following the spectacular sell-out of the one off ABBA tribute night last year, the Swedish super group returns again for Abba Forever at Airbourne on Friday 18 August, and audiences are being advised to book tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Next week also features more weekly themed events, including this Saturday’s Jump Back Rock n Roll night followed by the Mayfield Band at Sunday Night on the Proms. The band return again on Wednesday for the 1812 Firework concert night and on Thursday there’s Big Band tunes from the Mike Baker Swing Band. Doors and bar will open from 7pm with shows ‘lifting the curtain’ at 8pm.
