Recycle World Cup fever in Eastbourne!

Bottles
The World Cup means two things: firstly you can’t leave the house without seeing a St George’s flag flying in support of the England Team and secondly that there are plenty of World Cup ‘get togethers’.

Many parties will produce plenty of cans, glass bottles, plastic bottles and cardboard!  This World Cup we would like you to put all of those extra cans and glass bottles in your recycling box and take the plastic bottles and cardboard to the many bring sites across Eastbourne.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Environment, Tourism and Economy, Councillor David Elkin says, “Come on Eastbourne Becks is not going to let them beat us at football, Crouch is the tallest of them all, so recycle your cans don't throw them at the wall, if we can beat the Germans at recycling then we can all have a ball.”

Germany is hosting the World Cup this year; they are currently recycling at a rate of 57%.  Germany recycles more of its waste than they put in landfill or incinerate!

Don’t worry if you have more recycling than fits in your green recycling box, just put it in a bag on top of your recycling box and your recycling crew will take it all!

So come on Eastbourne, let’s get a goal for recycling this World Cup!
