A small reception is being held on Thursday 8 June at Eastbourne Town Hall to celebrate the birthday of the Town’s oldest resident Henry Allingham. The event will take place two days after he turns 110. Henry is the oldest man in the country and was recently awarded the Freedom of Eastbourne.
The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne Councillor Colin Belsey says, “I am delighted that we are able to celebrate Henry’s birthday in this way, he is an amazing man and it is lovely that his family are able to be in Eastbourne at this very special time.”
The small private party will also be attended by some of his family who are visiting from Canada. This gathering follows a family party on his birthday at the Grand Hotel with a fly past by the RAF.
