Hundreds of Children's Artwork Goes on Display

Nearly 300 local children are taking part in the first ever “Airbourne Art” competition launched by Eastbournes Hospitality Association.
 
School children, of all ages, have been designing an Airbourne poster and could win the chance of a free helicopter ride at the International Airshow later this month.
 
Chairman of EHA, Ian Millar, says “we have been delighted with the response this year and now hope to make the competition an annual event”
 
The largest number of entries has come from Bourne Primary School with over 130 children keen to show off their budding painting skills. Head Teacher David Swales says “all the children have been very excited about winning a helicopter ride”
 
Airbourne Art is on display for the next fortnight at The Cumberland Hotel, Mansion Hotel, Afton Hotel, The Cavendish, The Lansdowne, Weyanoke, New Wilmington and Marine Parade Hotel.
 
The Hotels and their guests will be judging the finalists and on Thursday 17 August at 4pm these will go on display at the main arena on Western Lawns, at the start of Airbourne .Judges include MP Nigel Waterson,an Airbourne pilot and EHA representatives.
 
EHA is sponsoring the Typhoon Eurofighter at this years Airbourne.
