Run by Eastbourne Borough Council and sponsored by Eastbourne & District Chamber of Commerce, the competition will allow genuine radio enthusiasts to compete for a slot on the station.
Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Councillor David Elkin said “This is an excellent opportunity for anyone keen to get into the radio industry. The lucky winner will get the chance to gain behind the scenes production experience while mentored by the Station Manager, before finally hitting the airwaves themselves. Who knows, we could have a Chris Moyles in the making!”
Entrants will be required to send in a five minute long audition tape and in keeping with the X-factor format, both young and old are welcomed with three categories for under 18’s, 18-30 and over 30’s. Short listed entrants will then be let lose in the studio with a mentor for each age group, while the team of experts assess their performance and vote on the lucky winner.
Radio Airbourne 87.7FM will hit the airwaves on Monday 14 August through to Sunday 20 August, broadcasting live commentary, pilots interviews, traffic and weather updates and a range of great music. Catch up on the latest flying news and previews 24 hours a day.
