Fans of Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow will be able to plan their visit early this year, as organisers Eastbourne Borough Council put the souvenir flying programme on sale, ahead of schedule.
Featuring a full programme of flying times for all four days of the free show which returns from 17 – 20 August, fans can check out display times of favourites such as the Harrier, F16, Eurofighter Typhoon and the RAF Red Arrows.
Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism Councillor David Elkin said “We decided to get this years’ programme out early as there is such a high demand for flying times in the lead up to the event, with many people looking to plan their visit. Being a free show, the programme is also important in generating the funding for flying displays, so the more we sell, the better the flying displays for next year!”
In a quirky seafront homage to some of the flying displays taking place, the front cover this year features a tongue in cheek formation of seagulls in the classic diamond nine formation.
The 64 page programme also features photographs and A-Z information on display aircraft, pilots, arena displays, RAF ground exhibits, car parking, a site plan and other events taking place along the seafront. Pilots will also be on hand at the arena to sign autographs during the show.
Airbourne returns this year with sponsorship from Eastbourne Arndale Centre, City Sightseeing, Eastbourne & District Chamber of Commerce, Eastbourne Herald, Eastbourne Hospitality Association, Red Eventful Cuisine, SITA, Specsavers and the South East England Development Agency.
Programmes cost £5 and will be on sale at this weekend’s Eastbourne Extreme festival and at the Eastbourne Tourist Information Centre. A team of roving programme sellers will also be out and about the town from Saturday 12th August through till Sunday 20th August, including venues such as the Eastbourne Arndale Centre.
