The Little Common Band of the Royal British Legion will make sparks fly on Eastbourne seafront in an 1812 Firework Concert at the town’s bandstand on Wednesday 26 July, just days before the Royal British Legion Bandstand Festival of Music.
This band is the latest to appear in the line up for this season’s popular 1812 nights, held every Wednesday until September 6. After an evening of wonderful music from 8pm, the grand finale will feature a rendition of the 1812 overture and a dazzling display of fireworks.
Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Councillor David Elkin, says, “The Little Common Band of the Royal British Legion have visited us for many years so it is exciting to welcome this high class band back for what will undoubtedly be another superb feature of our bandstand programme. The band will certainly provide a great evening of entertainment and give a taster of the music to come during the Royal British Legion Bandstand Festival of Music which we can look forward to at the end of the week.”
The Tribute nights continue their success on Friday 28 July with a musical medley from the Eagles tribute band, Alter Eagles. Doors and bar open at 7pm with the show soaring onto the stage at 8pm. As always fans are advised to book early to ensure a ticket.
The week starts with Eastbourne Gilbert and Sullivan Society on Monday, and other entertainment coming up this week includes a Big Band night featuring The Jon Hamilton Big Band on Thursday, with the Royal British Legion Bandstand Festival of Music beginning on Saturday.
