The Royal British Legion Earl Haig Memorial Service will take place at Christ’s Church on Seaside on Sunday 26th February, beginning at 2.30p.m. The church service will be attended by the Mayor of Eastbourne, the Deputy Mayor of Hailsham and the Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex.
The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Graham Marsden, says, “It is important to recognise and publicise the important work that is done by the Royal British Legion to support those in need of help following military service. I hope that residents will come to Christ’s Church on Sunday and share in what should be a most uplifting service.”
The Royal British Legion County President will be reading the lesson and the County Vice Chairman will be laying the wreath against the altar. Refreshments will follow the service.
The Royal British Legion is the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependants. Currently, nearly 10.5 million people are eligible for support and they receive thousands of calls for help every year.
