Don’t Miss the Mayor’s Charity Dinner and Dance!

Mayor's Tango
The Mayor of Eastbourne’s Dinner and Dance is fast approaching and tickets are selling quickly.   The event will take place on Friday 17th March, 7.00 for 7.30p.m., in the Floral Hall, Winter Garden.  It promises to be a fantastic evening with a three course dinner followed by dancing and a tango cabaret – all in aid of the Mayor’s chosen charity, C.R.Y (Cardiac Risk in the Young).

The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Graham Marsden, says, “I have been very pleased with the splendid positive response for tickets but there is still room for more at the Winter Garden.  This is an opportunity that should not be missed.  Raising funds to reduce the tragic unexpected loss of young people from undiagnosed heart disease is very important.  I hope that as many residents as possible will support me on Friday 17th March to have fun but with a serious purpose.”

Shades Bistro is kindly sponsoring the eleven piece band, “Pzazz”, for after-dinner dancing.  Tango formation team “Los Tangueros” will give a demonstration at 8.45pm and a spectacular performance later in the evening.

Fantastic raffle prizes include a night for two at the top class Bonnington Hotel in London, dinner for two in the Garden Restaurant at the Grand Hotel, Family membership for a year at Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club, and ‘Keeper for the Day’ at Drusillas Park.

Tickets are good value at £30 each and can be obtained by sending a cheque, made payable to “The Mayor of Eastbourne’s Charity”, to Miss B Chwatow, Mayor’s Office, Town Hall, Grove Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4UG.  Or call 01323 415020.  Individuals or couples are welcome to purchase tickets, plus, complete tables seating eight are also available.

CRY was chosen as this year’s Mayoral charity, not only because of its importance in raising awareness of this type of sudden death and providing support for grieving families, but also because a young Cavendish School student, known to the Mayor during his teaching career, died suddenly.
