Volunteers will be clearing out the rocks, shopping trolleys and large debris from Crumbles Pond in Princes Park. Work will take place on Thursday 2nd March from 9.00am until 12.00 noon.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Economy, Tourism and Environment, Councillor David Elkin, says, “Not for the faint-hearted, this. You need your wellingtons and a sense of adventure. If you have both you will be very welcome to come and give a hand on this very worth while expedition. Most of the water will be drained off at low tide.”
The water level will be lowered from Monday onwards with the water being at its lowest level on Thursday.
Volunteers are advised to wear appropriate footwear and be prepared to get muddy! Disposable gloves and refreshments will be available. This activity is not suitable for unaccompanied children. All recovered rubbish will be removed by Glendale Grounds Management. The day is sponsored by Action Earth and the Environment Agency.
