Cash For Voluntary Groups

Money from a new grants scheme is being made available to voluntary groups in Eastbourne. Groups can apply to Eastbourne Borough Council for a share of £21,000.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Housing, Health and Community Services, Councillor Sandie Howlett says, “The voluntary sector are important partners, providing a wide range of services for our local community. This funding represents an exciting new opportunity for the Council to support some of the smaller projects and initiatives involving volunteers that could make a real difference to peoples’ lives.”

This new grant scheme will give organisations the chance to gain funding for a one off project or to help start up a new initiative. These grants will differ from the annual grants distributed by the council.

The money is aimed at helping organisations who miss out on other rounds of funding or are planning to start a one off project that needs cash injection.

Application criteria is currently being drawn up and the grants will be available later this year.
