Eastbourne’s Beachy Head Marathon, taking place on Saturday 28 October, is filling up with over 1300 entrants having confirmed places already.
This extraordinary response rate means the number of participating runners, joggers and walkers is running away. The event is the ultimate challenge: to complete a 26 mile off-road event over some of the best scenery in the country.
Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Councillor David Elkin says, “The unique experience that is the Beachy Head Marathon should not be missed. For those seeking a challenge there are some serious uphill sections which total 3000ft over the whole course and what a beautiful setting to complete this - in stunning scenery winding across the South Downs coast and countryside. No wonder it is so popular.”
Organised by Eastbourne Borough Council, and supported by Rix & Kay Solicitors and the Eastbourne Hospitality Association, the course certainly makes the most of the South Coast so entry hopefuls had better make the most of the remaining places.
Whether aiming to improve your health, raise money or support a friend, access the remaining places by sending a stamped address envelope marked `BHM Entry Form’ to PO Box 2608, Eastbourne, BN20 8DZ. Alternatively visit the website
