The revised draft of the Eastbourne Park Management Plan is to be the subject of a five week consultation period commencing on 22 August 2006.
Eastbourne Park is a multi-functional green open space and the Management Plan will ensure that the flood mitigation scheme, the nature conservation and archaeological assets are protected and maintained. It will also provide the framework for managing future changes to the area.
The document is to be made available for public inspection and comment until 26 September 2006. Landowners and interested parties will be notified that the draft Management Plan has been revised and that a copy of the document can be viewed at the Council Offices and the Central Library. The Plan will also be available on the Council’s website.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Environment, Tourism and Economy Councillor David Elkin says “Eastbourne Park is one of the Town’s most valuable assets. Almost completely surrounded by development, the Park is an important green open space and the Management Plan will ensure existing and future Park functions are maintained and effectively managed.”
