Honorary Freemen of Eastbourne

Henry Allingham Freeman of Eastbourne
Eastbourne Borough Council can confer the title of Honorary Freeman to "persons of distinction and persons who have in the opinion of the Council, rendered eminent service to the Borough." 
 
The title is honorary and does not confer any special rights or privileges on the holder.

    Awarded in 2006.
  • Ms Martina Navratilova.
    Awarded 2004.

  • The Territorial Army 56th Signal Squadron (V).
    Awarded 2000.
  • Mr Alderman Sydney Morris Caffyn, CBE, Hon D Sc.
    Awarded 1971
  • The Royal Sussex Regiment (now the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment).
    Awarded 1951.
  • The Right Honourable Sir Winston Churchill, KG, OM, CH, MP.
