Service Personnel
Service personnel who live in accommodation provided by the Ministry of Defence are eligible for a 50% discount on Council Tax.
Job Related Properties
A 50% discount will apply if you have a second job related home and you are responsible for council tax for a main residence elsewhere. This would mean that publicans, for example, who have a second home but are required to live at the licensed premises where they are a tenant, are able to apply.
Change in Circumstances
If your bill indicates that a discount, exemption or reduction has been allowed, you must tell the Council of any change of circumstances which affects your entitlement to avoid having to pay a penalty.
