Council Tax Payments

You can pay your current bill by a maximum of ten monthly instalments. The number of instalments will be reduced depending on the time of year your bill is issued.

How Can I Pay?

In this section you can find out how to pay:

 

  • By Direct Debit

  • Online

  • By Cheque

  • By Telephone

  • Credit Transfer/Internet Banking

When Can I Pay?

  • Monthly - Details of your monthly instalments are shown on the bill.
  • Yearly - Payment of the total charge should be made by the instalment date shown on the bill.
  • Twice Yearly - The total amount of the first five instalments should be paid by the first instalment date shown on the bill. The balance of the remaining five instalments should be paid at the beginning of September.

Where Can I Pay?

  • At a Bank - If you wish to pay by this method you will need special vouchers. Please contact your bank for further advice.
  • At a Post Office - Payments may be made, in cash only, at a number of post offices in Eastbourne. This service is free. If you wish to pay at the post office, please contact us and we will arrange for a Post Office payment card to be sent to you or use your existing card. This card does not need to be renewed every year.
  • In Person - You can pay your bill in cash at our office using the automated kiosk. You will need to have your Council Tax account number with you. The kiosk gives change and a receipt.

    The Council Office at 1 Grove Road is open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Wednesdays.
