Scrutiny Guidance

Councillors have agreed some guidance and procedures governing how scrutiny is carried out in practice. We have put all this information together in a scrutiny handbook to form a useful reference guide for councillors, officers and interested members of the public.

The handbook comprises of two parts - a general booklet called Your Guide to Scrutiny which explains what Scrutiny is and how it works, and a series of Scrutiny Information Sheets which provide more detail and guidance on specific parts of the process. These documents can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
