We hope to make this an easy site to use and find your way around. This page explains how a basic page on the site is designed.
Here are a few tips on using the site:
Top Header
The top part of the page includes our logo and links to important pages on the site such as the Home Page, the A-Z of Services, Accessibility Options, the Site Map and this Help section. This top header appears at the top of every page on the site.
Website Sections
The site has 11 main sections which you can access from the menu. As you go into the sections you are taken deeper into the site. All the pages in the section are listed in the menu.
Search
If you don't know where to find a particular bit of information try the Search box at the top of the page - just type one or two words to describe what you want and click Go. A list of pages and downloads containing your search terms will be displayed.
Contact
The Council's address is at the bottom of every page where you can click the Eastbourne Borough Council link to go to our main Contacts page. Alternatively you can use the Contact link at the top of every page.
Are You Lost?
At the top left of every page (except the home page) you will see a 'breadcrumb trail' which explains where you are in the site. This might look like this:
You Are Here: Home » Housing » Benefits » Landlords
This shows you how that particular page sits within the site structure - Landlords is part of the Benefits section, which is part of the Housing section. Clicking on any part of the trail will take you to that page.
You can always return to the Home page from any page by clicking Home.
Navigation Menus
Each sub-section of the site has a menu on the left which leads you to the pages within that section.
Use your browser's Back button to go back a page.
Disclaimer and Privacy Policy
Every page displays a link to our Disclaimer and our Privacy Policy at the bottom.
