Downloading Files

On this website you will find files to download at the bottom of some pages. They are called Related Documents.

These documents cover a wide range of subjects such as application forms for council services, advice sheets or council policy documents.

In most cases these files will be in Portable Document Format (PDF). This will be indicated by the PDF logo and will normally have a file size in kilobytes (KB) next to them.

In order to read a PDF file you need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. You may already have this on your PC or laptop as it comes free with other software packages. However, if you do not have it you can download it free from the Adobe website.

Older Versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader

Please note that whilst we have made an effort to ensure that our PDFs can be read by older versions of the software, this does not always appear to be the case. If you have a version of Acrobat older than version 4  you may have to upgrade to the latest, free version by visiting the Adobe website. (You can check which version you have by going to Help > About Adobe Acrobat when the program is open)

PDF and Accessibility

Visually impaired users may have trouble reading PDF files with screen reader software. To overcome this you can go to the Access Adobe website and use their online conversion tools for Adobe PDF Documents.

Other Download Formats

All documents on the site are made available as PDFs only, except for the Job Application Form. This form is available as both a PDF and a Word Document.

Most word processing packages are able to open Word (.doc) files, but if you cannot, you can download a free Word reader from Microsoft.
