Internal Appeals

All applicants have a 'right of appeal'. If you feel that Eastbourne Borough Council has not responded appropriately to your request, please forward any correspondence to the address below detailing your reasons for appealing.

If you are not content with the outcome of your internal appeal, you may apply directly to the Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI) for a decision. Generally, OPSI cannot make a decision unless you have already exhausted the internal complaints procedure provided by Eastbourne Borough Council.

 

Further appeals should be sent to the OPSI for review.  Any complaint to OPSI must:

 

  • Be made in writing,

  • State the nature of the complaint in no more than 2,000 words, and

  • Include a copy of the Council’s written response to the complaint under regulation 17(3) where this exists.

 

OPSI will acknowledge the complaint in writing within 3 working days of receipt. All appeals should be sent to:
