You can complain to the Information Commissioner if you think that the council has breached any of the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (2000).
This might include:
Incorrect application of the Act’s exemptions
Failure to provide advice and assistance
Failure to respond within the specified timeframes
At your request, the Information Commissioner will carry out an assessment of the council's decision and procedures to establish whether or not we have complied with the Act.
Should the Information Commissioner find that the council is not processing in compliance with the Act then the council will be issued with a notice requiring it to take steps to ensure compliance.
