The Act states that as a Data Controller the Council must:
Keep any Personal Data about you accurate and where necessary up-to-date.
Process Personal Data in accordance with the Rights of a Data Subject and others, detailed in Part II of The Data Protection Act (1998).
Not hold Personal Data about you that is excessive in relation to the purpose for which it is processed.
Not keep processed data for any purpose or purposes longer than it is necessary.
