When a Subject Access Request is received, the Council will try to provide you (the Data Subject) with all of the Personal Data that is held about you.
Whether you get all of the information about you depends on certain conditions. These are listed below.
You do not have a right to be given information if:
Your request is not made in writing and the prescribed fee is not paid;
The Council (the Data Controller) does not have enough information to be satisfied of your identity;
The Council does not have enough information to be able to locate the Personal Data you want;
By responding to you the Council will release any Personal Data about an individual who has not given their consent to you having his or her personal information;
You have recently requested the same or similar Personal Data about yourself;
It is not possible to supply a copy of the information to you or a disproportionate effort is required to collect the information for you.
Part II of the Data Protection Act (1998) explains these conditions further.
