Data Protection & Freedom of Information

This Access to Information legislation means that the Council has to make as much information as possible available through its Publication Scheme and that we must respond to any requests for information within statutory timescales.


Access to Information includes the following acts:

 

  • The Data Protection Act (1998)

  • The Freedom of Information Act (2000)

  • Environmental Information Regulations (2004)

  • The Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations (2005)

 

These Acts give you the right to access information held by Eastbourne Borough Council, subject to specific exemptions. In some cases you will need to pay a statutory fee.

 

You can send requests for information to anybody, anywhere in the Council.
