The current Deputy Mayor of Eastbourne is Councillor Mrs Carolyn Heaps. Her term as Deputy Mayor runs from 6 May 2009 to 5 May 2010.
The Deputy Mayor is expected to deputise for the Mayor and attend events on behalf of the Mayor when the Mayor is not available. The Deputy Mayor may also deputise for the Mayor at Council meetings, and take on the role of Chairman if the Mayor is unable to attend.
The same protocols apply to the Deputy Mayor that apply to the Mayor.
