We run public consultations about decisions and events taking place in Eastbourne.

Our Consultation Principles

  • Consultation will be a meaningful two-way dialogue leading to decision making. All sections of the community will be given the opportunity to be involved in local decision making

  • We will make use of the results of existing consultations and share good practice and ideas with our partners

  • A consultation timetable will be produced, which will be shared with our partners

  • A report of results will be produced for each consultation and results will be shared

  • We will explain why we are consulting, what we are consulting about and how views of the public will affect our decisions

  • We will allow sufficient time for responses, complying with the principles of the Eastbourne Compact where we can

  • Consultation will be carried out and the resulting data held with integrity adhering at all times to the Data Protection Act

  • We will feedback to those who took part, showing how results of consultation shaped policy
