This consultation closed on 19 November 2010
The council invited your views on a new proposed policy to adopt new legislation for the regulation of a new category of sex establishment, known as a “Sex Entertainment Venue”.
When Did the Consultation Take Place?
The Full Licensing Committee directed that consultation should take place with residents and businesses to seek their views in further developing the draft Sex Encounter Policy, and how licences are issued.
The consultation ran from Friday 27 August 2010 until 12 noon on Friday 19 November 2010. Comments were accepted via an online form, or a PDF questionnaire to download and print, or by letter, fax or email. Late responses will not be considered.
What Will Happen Next?
Following the closing date, the Licensing Authority may now tailor, amend and augment it according to local considerations and needs.
The responses will be collated, and a report outlining the responses received, and the amended Policy document (as required), will be presented to the council’s Cabinet on 15 December 2010, and then to the Full Council on 23 February 2011.
In accordance with the legislative provisions, requirements regarding advertisement will be adhered to prior to full adoption and implentation.
A summary of the responses will be available via the council's website. Alternatively, a paper copy of the summary may also be requested, subject to a reasonable charge for copying and postage.
