Eastbourne Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment

Housing

Consultation Now Closed

Eastbourne Borough Council is currently undertaking a Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment which identifies sites that can contribute to the Council's housing delivery for the next 20 years. This helps the Council to identify where to direct future housing provision and is a national requirement of the Local Development Framework.

The Council consulted from 4 January - 15 February 2008 with stakeholders and the local community, looking for all available opportunities for housing across the Borough. This was a chance for landowners, developers, architects, surveyors, public organisations, agents, stakeholders and members of the community to submit sites that could be considered as part of the assessment.

Next Steps

The Council is now considering all submissions and working on the in-house assessment of all residential sites. We will be replying to all parties who submitted sites in July along with our key stakeholders and infrastructure providers. The full information for which a summary report will be based on will be included as part of the evidence base for Eastbourne's Core Strategy, which will be subject to public consultation.

A summary report will be made available on the Council's website within the next month.
