Consultation closed on 12 September 2008
The introduction of the Licensing Act 2003 transferred the responsibility for the administration of the Licensing process from the Police and Magistrates Court to Local Authorities.
The first duty placed on Local Authorities by the Act was to prepare and consult on a written Statement of Licensing Policy, which must be reviewed and consulted upon regularly.
As part of this process, we are seeking to consult with statutory partners, businesses involved in the licensed trade and other interested partners, other businesses, members of the public who frequent sites, a range of other interested parties and the local community.
We recently undertook an Equality Impact Assessment of our Liquor Licensing Policy from Monday 11 August 2008 to Monday 12 September 2008, with an online questionnaire form to give us your views and comments on how we can improve our Liquor Licensing Policy.
Feedback
All personal licence holders in the Borough and all licensed premises were written too. 12 responses were received back which made comments about the need for a summary at the start of the document and some of the terminology being difficult to understand if English wasn't your first language.
