Empty properties are a wasted resource. This strategy will look at the extent of the problem nationally, regionally and locally.
It will examine the reasons for many properties being allowed to remain unoccupied for prolonged periods.
Progress and Future Plans
The strategy will review the progress made during the period of the previous strategy (2003-2008).
It will set out a revised corporate plan for working with owners, or resorting to the use of enforcement powers, to bring long-term, problematic empty properties back into use.
