Consultation Closed 24th February 2008
Eastbourne Borough Council has some money to invest in the improvement of Fishermans Green and the Sovereign Skate Park.
We have requested the views of local residents as to how this money should be spent on these two well used leisure sites on Eastbourne’s Seafront.
Fisherman’s Green
The Tennis and Basketball Courts on Royal Parade, known as Fisherman’s Green, are in a very poor state of repair; however they remain ever popular with local young people.
Sovereign Skate Park
Situated next to the Sovereign Centre on the Eastern end of Eastbourne’s seafront, this is a very popular facility with local children and young people. The tarmac surface and fencing are considered to be in good condition, however many of the ramps are in need of replacement.
Below is a copy of the Scrutiny report which details the finding of the review into Community Services at Fishermnas Green and the Sovereign Skate Park.
Update on Progress
Work with the young people in the town who use the skate park has continued. They have been invited to attend a number of meetings to discuss the refurbishment and this has included them being involved in choosing the final ramp scheme.
