About the Policy
The council's Pollution Enforcement Policy sets out the enforcement framework in which the Health and Environment Team will operate to achieve the aims of the Community Strategy.
To support the strategy theme for the Environment, the policy aims to facilitate local residents to:

enjoy a higher quality of life through having a clean, safe and accessible natural, urban and marine environment

value and protect the environment, conserving and enhancing it for future generations
-
ensure that all new developments are planned and designed with minimal adverse impact on either the historic or the natural environment.

Enforcement Concordat Good Practice
The Council has signed up to the Government’s 1998 Enforcement Concordat Principles of Good Enforcement. The Concordat sets out what business and others being regulated can expect from enforcement officers.
