Consultation closed on 2 November 2007
This consultation on the council's Licensing Policy for alcohol and entertainment was carried out between 7 September 2007 and 2 November 2007. Comments were invited by either submitting an online form on this website, or writing to our Licensing Manager.
Following the consultation, the current policy effective from January 2008 was approved by the council's Licensing Committee, subject to minor revisions, on 6 December 2007, by Cabinet on 12 December and Full Council in January 2008.
The Licensing Act 2003 requires the council (Licensing Authority) to publish a Statement of Licensing Policy that sets out the principles that the Authority will generally apply in order to promote the Licensing Objectives when making decisions on applications made under the Act.
In order to keep the Policy current, the Council must regularly consult on its content. This review and consultation helped to inform and shape the new Licensing Policy Statement from January 2008.
