Consultation closed 14th January 2008
The Council is seeking to improve services and secure the long term well being of Eastbourne. To do so the Council must have a strong and stable foundation. The next four years present a severe financial challenge and this means reducing expenditure and redirecting resources to key priorities.
In reaching decisions the Council wished to consider the views of residents and stakeholder groups. To do this the Council commissioned Research For Today Ltd to undertake 'SIMALTO' modelling research. This method allowed the proper presentation of the issues, options and their relative costs to a large sample of residents. It then finds the best agreed budget allocations and the level of council tax residents would be prepared to pay to meet priorities.
People involved in the consultation were a random selection of residents of Eastbourne, members of the Council's Citizens Panel who have access to the internet and stakeholder groups.
