Eastbourne Borough Council employs a dedicated Youth Engagement Officer who has responsibility for:
- The development of community based youth activities
- Youth-consultation through youth forums
- The creation and maintenance of a youth website
Currently we hold four activities every week specifically for young people with disabilities and two evening activities for young people in the community.
There is also a Junior Youth Forum and a Youth Forum (senior) held 3-4 times an academic year. This allows free communication between young people and workers especially regarding current and future occurances.
Current consulation is around the new Youth Website, which is designed and written by young people, for young people as well as the Sovereign Skate Park Refurbishment Plans.
In addition, there are big plans for the Youth Forums, Youth Website and the Community Activities for the coming year, 2009.
