Fundraising and Grants

Fundraising

"Fundraising is not simply about generating the resources you need to survive from this year to next, and planning for any expansion and development. It is also about helping create a viable and strong organisation which is able to sustain itself into the future"

Eastbourne has a large, diverse voluntary sector with over 600 voluntary organisations in the town. As the quote above suggests, it is important that your organisation is:

  • financially strong

  • not suffering from annual deficits or low morale

  • not spending so much time fundraising that it affects your ability to get on with the job or activity.

In this section...

  • Community Grants. How and when to apply.

  • Lottery Licenses. How local societies can raise funds for charity, social or cultural activities or any other non-commercial purpose.

  • Street Collections. Apply to the council to to carry out a charitable collection on the street.

You can contact 3VA, our local Council for Voluntary Services (CVS), for more general funding advice and access to GrantFinder.  They can help identify potential funders for a project, support your group in submitting applications and in drawing up a longer term fundraising strategy.
