"Fundraising is not simply about generating the resources you need to survive from this year to next, and planning for any expansion and development. It is also about helping create a viable and strong organisation which is able to sustain itself into the future"
The Complete Fundraising Handbook
Eastbourne has a large, diverse voluntary sector with over 600 voluntary organisations in the town. As the quote above suggests, it is important that your organisation is:
In this section...
Community Grants. How and when to apply.
Lottery Licenses. How local societies can raise funds for charity, social or cultural activities or any other non-commercial purpose.
Street Collections. Apply to the council to to carry out a charitable collection on the street.
The council is at present only able to advise groups on the Eastbourne Borough Council Community Grants and Licensing. We no longer produces the Eastbourne Funding Bulletin.
However, you can contact Eastbourne Association of Voluntary Services (EAVS) for funding advice. They can help identify potential funders for a project, support your group in submitting applications and in drawing up a longer term fundraising strategy.
