Access Eastbourne is a web based access and information guide for disabled people and their families and carers visiting, living and working in the town.
Access Eastbourne provides technical information on the accessibility of individual premises and facilities that are open to the public.
Disabled people are able to place reviews and comments on the website about their experiences when visiting places, and of course the venue will have a right to reply.
The Access Eastbourne Steering Group consists of members from:
-
Disability Involvement Group (DIG)
-
Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce
-
Federation of Small Businesses
-
Eastbourne Hospitality Association
-
Town Centre Management Initiative
-
East Sussex Disability Association (ESDA)
-
Eastbourne Association of Voluntary Services (EAVS).
Congratulations to Tracey Kaye from Hampden Park, who designed the winning logo for the Access Eastbourne project. The logo will be used on all publicity and promotions for the project in the future. Aims for the Future
The Disability Involvement Group (DIG) members consider that this project:
-
will be based on working with everyone and not against anyone
-
will enable a unique relationship to grow between disabled people and the business sectors in the town, one that is based on mutual understanding and respect
-
will result in an increase in the economic activity and growth of the town.
