Reduce Property Crime
Other Websites
Thousands of items of property are lost or stolen in the UK each year.
Enjoy the convenience and pleasure that items such as mobile phones and MP3 players bring, but please take the following precautions:
- Be aware of your surroundings, and conceal items if you feel uneasy.
- Never leave your property unattended, keep it on you, not near you.
- Be particularly vigilant whilst travelling home from school or college and when leaving railway stations or other public transport locations.
You can register your property for free at the immobilise website. It only takes a couple of minutes and is free.
Mobile Phones
You will need your handset's International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number. This can be found on the box that the phone came in, on your contract, on a label usually located behind the battery or by keying in *#06#.
You should also keep a written note of the IMEI number, as the police will need this if you have to report your phone as stolen.
MP3/4 Players
To register your MP3/4 Player you will need the serial number.
Bicycles
Always lock bicycles securely when they are unattended. To register your bike you will need the frame number, make and model.
How to Report Stolen Property
If any item of registered property is stolen you should report it to the Police. In the case of a mobile phone give police your IMEI number, inform your service provider and tell them to block both the SIM and handset and then update your online Immobilise account.
If your registered property is recovered the Police or Immobilise will contact you.
