No Smoking Day is an annual health awareness campaign to help smokers who want to stop.
It takes place on the second Wednesday in March each year.

This year's event is on Wednesday 12 March 2008 and the theme is the Great No Smoking Day Challenge.
No Smoking Day aims to:
- create a supportive environment for people who want to quit
- highlight the many sources of help and advice available
Now in its 25th year, No Smoking Day is a firm fixture in the UK calendar due to its popularity amongst smokers and continued success.
Three quarters of smokers would like to stop and on No Smoking Day over a million try.
The Challenge - Can You Last a Week?
The Great No Smoking Day Challenge encourages smokers to stay focused initially on a manageable target - the first week. The week-long challenge aims to help quitters develop the confidence to that they can go on to a smokefree life.

No Smoking Day is organised by a charity funded by a coalition of government and voluntary sector organisations with an interest in health.
