Group Statistics

Hand-drawn graph
The current statistics relating to the Eastbourne Busines Crime Group are:

  • Membership of the Eastbourne Business Crime Group now stands at over 175 ranging from small independants to national companies

  • We were accredited with the Safer Business Award in April 2006 and will be audited again in 2009 for a re-accreditation

  • The Devonshire Ward of Eastbourne is the town's busiest area, however a CADDIE report has shown that in this area over the last year there has been a 9% reduction in injury related Public Place Violent Crime and a 20% reduction in shoplifting. In part this is due to the vigilance and early reporting of offenders by the scheme members.

  • The radiolink network spans both the day and night time economy using sophisticated software that is managed voluntarily by Arndale Security.

  • A Night Bus is being introduced for Brighton University students that live on campus. The trial will run from September 2007 until Christmas 2007

  • The Business Crime Group is again attending Brighton University's Freshers Fair following the success of it's presentation last year.

  • We have 8 ASBO's, 6 Warning Letters and 57 Exclusions running.

These figures are correct as of 30 August 2007.
