Eastbourne Tobacco Control Group
Find out about the work of the Eastbourne Tobacco Control Group.
The group is part of the Healthy Eastbourne Board, a partnership of agencies taking joint action to improve the health of the local community.
Our Aims
The group aims to:
Raise awareness of new smoke free legislation in Eastbourne
Reduce smoking prevalence
Reduce exposure to second hand smoke
Support and monitor enforcement of the new legislation
Support the Local Strategic Partnership and Local Area Agreement health improvement objectives
Activities
We will:
Support education and enforcement activities
Engage employers via existing networks about forthcoming legislation
Offer targeted Stop Smoking clinics and policy advice to workplaces
Raise public awareness via a range of venues including pubs, sports venues, clubs and gyms
Consider promotion of a Smoke Free Homes initiative
