Wise Up 2 Work

We want to get teenagers thinking about health and safety. Why?

In just five years, more than 50 under-18s lost their lives in UK workplaces, and nearly 13,000 were badly injured. Across Europe, young adults have 50 per cent more accidents than older workers.

The Wiseup2work website will help you get ready for work. You will find interactive games, a chat forum and a national competition to help you find out about the risks you will face and how to handle them.

Health and safety officers from the council's Environmental Health service give talks to schools and colleges in Eastbourne. You can download a colour presentation in PDF format below, from our recent talk to students at Eastbourne Technical College.
